Yeah, the guy who who blames the “decline of music” on Garden State is a singer-songwriter himself. I think he’s just making excuses… I’d say that the decline of music is more linked to factors like digital media which has created a market that makes artist development a lot more difficult than it has been in the past, and a bigger focus on selling singles than whole albums.

But that’s just me.
